A Holistic PCOS Practitioner for Dallas Women, Online

Dr. Tenesha Wards, D.C., A.C.N. · Telehealth across Dallas–Fort Worth · Optional in-person visits in Waxahachie

If you searched "PCOS specialist in Dallas," you may already have one: an OB-GYN who confirmed the diagnosis, maybe an endocrinologist, and a prescription or two. What many women tell me is missing is the time to figure out why their PCOS looks the way it does, and a plan for food, stress, sleep, and labs that fits their actual life. That's the gap I fill. I work alongside your medical team, not instead of it, and I do it by video so you don't have to fight traffic for an appointment.

PCOS Isn't One Thing

Two women with the same diagnosis can need opposite plans. When I review a new case, I'm usually sorting it into one or more of these patterns:

1. Blood-sugar-driven. Cravings, energy crashes after meals, weight that collects around the middle, and labs that hint at insulin resistance. This is the most common pattern I see, and food timing and composition matter a lot here.

2. Stress-driven. High-pressure jobs, poor sleep, and DHEA or cortisol patterns that point to the adrenals rather than the ovaries. Pushing harder with workouts and restriction often backfires for this group.

3. Inflammation-driven. Gut issues, skin flares, joint aches, or food reactions sitting alongside the cycle problems. Here I often start with the gut.

4. After stopping the pill. Cycles that never came back the way they were, or acne that showed up after coming off hormonal birth control. This group needs patience and a clear timeline.

Knowing your pattern is what keeps us from throwing every supplement on the internet at you.

What We Look At

Depending on your history, testing may include:

  • A functional blood chemistry panel, including blood sugar and insulin markers, read against functional rather than only standard ranges
  • The DUTCH hormone test for sex hormones, their metabolites, and your daily cortisol rhythm
  • Thyroid markers, because thyroid issues and PCOS can overlap
  • Stool testing (such as GI-MAP) when gut symptoms are part of the story

The DUTCH test is a dried urine kit you collect at home. Blood work is drawn at a commercial lab draw site, and there are plenty across Dallas and its suburbs. We'll help you choose one that fits your schedule.

A Realistic First 90 Days

PCOS work is a season, not a weekend. Here's how a typical start goes for my Dallas patients:

  • Weeks 1–2: Free strategy call, a one-hour New Patient Consultation by video, and test kits shipped to you.
  • Weeks 3–4: Report of findings. You get a written plan with food structure, two or three priority supplements (not twenty), movement that fits your pattern, and sleep and stress basics.
  • Weeks 5–12: Regular check-ins. We adjust based on your cycle, energy, cravings, and skin, and decide when retesting is useful.

You'll have support with nutrition along the way. For many women, this is the part that was missing when they searched for a "PCOS nutritionist near me."

Is This a Good Fit?

Likely a good fit if you: - Have a PCOS diagnosis or strongly suspect it, and want root-cause answers - Are open to changing food, sleep, and stress habits with guidance - Want to keep your OB-GYN or endocrinologist in the loop

Probably not the right first step if you: - Need urgent fertility procedures or imaging. Your reproductive specialist leads that, and I'm glad to support you alongside them. - Want a single pill solution with no lifestyle changes

Why Telehealth Works Well for PCOS

Most PCOS visits are conversations: your symptoms, your food log, your cycle tracking, your labs. None of that requires an exam room. Video visits mean you can meet with me from a lunch break in Uptown or your kitchen in Garland, without adding a cross-town drive to an already full week. If you'd like to meet in person, our clinic in Waxahachie is about 30 miles south of downtown Dallas.

"Dr. Wards has been extremely patient, understanding, and listens to what I have to say. She values my opinions and believes me when I tell her what I am going through." B.M., from our patient success stories

PCOS Questions From Dallas Women

Can I see a PCOS doctor online if I live in Dallas? Yes. Your consultations and follow-ups happen by video, your hormone test is collected at home, and blood work is drawn at a lab near you. Note that I'm a functional medicine practitioner (D.C., A.C.N.), not an OB-GYN. I work alongside your medical doctors.

What does a holistic PCOS practitioner do differently? I spend time figuring out which pattern is driving your PCOS (blood sugar, stress, inflammation, or post-pill changes) and build a nutrition, lifestyle, and supplement plan around it, guided by testing.

Do you help with PCOS and weight? Weight is one of the most common concerns I hear. We look at blood sugar, insulin, cortisol, thyroid, and sleep, because weight that won't move is usually a signal, not a willpower problem. I don't promise numbers on a scale.

What hormone testing do you use for PCOS? Often the DUTCH test, which looks at sex hormones, their metabolites, and your cortisol pattern, plus a functional blood panel. We choose based on your history.

I'm trying to conceive. Can you help? I can support the foundations, like blood sugar, nutrition, stress, and cycle awareness, while your OB-GYN or fertility specialist manages the medical side. Many women find the two approaches work well together.
