Functional Medicine & Holistic Care for Austin, TX

You've been told your labs look "normal." You've seen specialist after specialist. And you still don't feel like yourself. I know that place well, because I've lived it. My work is to listen to your whole story, test for what's actually going on, and build a plan that addresses root causes instead of chasing symptoms.
After nearly two decades of helping Austin, TX with holistic care, I'm proud to serve patients everywhere through telehealth. If you live in Austin or anywhere in the Austin area, you don't need to drive to see me. You can work with me through video or phone visits, and you're always welcome at our clinic in Waxahachie when you want to be seen in person.

How Care Works for Austin Patients
Infinity Wellness Center is a functional medicine practice led by Dr. Tenesha Wards. Our clinic is at 304 N College St, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Austin-area patients have two ways to work with us:
- Telehealth: Your consultation, lab review, and follow-up visits happen by video or phone. Functional lab testing is ordered and reviewed through your telehealth visits.
- In person in Waxahachie: If you prefer to meet face to face, you can schedule your visits at the clinic.
Because we work virtually, we also see patients across Texas and nationwide. If you've moved away from Austin, you can keep working with the same team.
Why Austin Patients Choose a Root-Cause Approach
Functional medicine looks at the body as one connected system. Fatigue, brain fog, bloating, weight that won't move, and hormone swings rarely happen in isolation. They're often clues that point back to the gut, toxin burden, hidden infections, stress, or nutrient gaps.
Instead of a quick visit and a prescription, you get:
- Time. Your New Patient Consultation is a full hour with your practitioner, building a timeline of your symptoms and your health story.
- Real testing. We use functional lab work to look for what standard panels can miss.
- A plan built for you. Supplements, nutrition, detox support, hormone support, and stress tools, chosen based on your results.
- Support along the way. We meet regularly to track progress, adjust your plan, and retest when it makes sense.
Functional Lab Testing Available to Austin Patients
Testing is how we stop guessing. Depending on your history, your plan may include:
- Functional blood chemistry panel
- Stool testing for gut health, leaky gut, and parasites (including GI-MAP)
- Saliva hormone testing and DUTCH hormone testing (what the DUTCH test measures)
- Tick-borne illness testing (Lyme and co-infections)
- Mold toxicity and mycotoxin screening
- Environmental toxin and heavy metal analysis
- Genetic testing, including MTHFR
- Neurotransmitter testing
- Epstein-Barr virus screening

What We Support
Gut Health
So much starts in the gut, including energy, mood, skin, and immune balance. We use stool testing to look at your microbiome, digestion, and gut lining, then build a plan to support gut balance.
Gut & digestive health · Self-guided Gut Healing Program · GI-MAP testing
Parasite Cleansing
Parasites can be a hidden factor behind symptoms such as sugar cravings, bloating, sleep trouble, or skin issues. We offer parasite testing and our Full Moon Parasite Cleanse program.
Parasite testing & cleansing · Full Moon Parasite Cleanse · Warning signs of parasites
Hormone Balance
Fatigue, irregular cycles, perimenopause and menopause changes, low libido, and stubborn weight can all be tied to hormones, along with the stress and gut issues behind them. We test, then support balance naturally.
Lyme Disease & Tick-Borne Illness
Lyme is called "the great imitator" for a reason. Its symptoms can look like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, or anxiety. I went through Lyme and co-infections myself as a teenager, so this work is personal. We use specialized tick-borne testing and a whole-body plan to support your recovery.
Peptide Therapy
Peptides are short chains of amino acids your body already uses as signals. For the right patient, they can support recovery, focus, metabolism, and healthy aging. Peptide therapy is available to Austin patients through telehealth visits.
We also support patients with fatigue, mold toxicity, histamine intolerance, autoimmunity, thyroid concerns, anxiety, and sleep. See all conditions we support →

Meet Dr. Tenesha Wards, D.C., A.C.N.
At 15, I spent a year bedridden while doctor after doctor ran tests and found nothing. A holistic-minded doctor finally identified Lyme disease and co-infections, and that changed the direction of my life. Years later, after a stressful pregnancy and a hard season, I had to rebuild my own health again, this time working through mold toxicity, hormone imbalance, and autoimmunity.
Those experiences shape how I practice. I listen, I believe you, and I dig until we find what's driving your symptoms. I also wrote a book for anyone who feels like they've run out of options: What To Do When Your Doctor Gives Up On You.

In Our Patients' Words
"Dr. Wards doesn't just treat the symptoms, she helps you find the root of the issue as well as new ways of living to help your overall wellbeing, and for that I'll forever be grateful!"
Tara
"Dr. Wards has been extremely patient, understanding, and listens to what I have to say. She values my opinions and believes me when I tell her what I am going through."
B.M.
"I had no idea my gut was in such poor condition, even though I maintained a healthy lifestyle."
