Reiki is one of the better-known healing modalities that I use to support patients. It’s a Japanese healing modality aimed to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and facilitate the movement of life force also known as Ki. Relaxing and powerful, I perform reiki on clients as they lay down in a soothing environment.  

Reiki masters like myself gently hold their hands on or above the client in specific areas that follow the chakras. A session is typically a very relaxing 30-60 minutes that promotes a sense of tranquility and deep rest. Patients say it feels like the best nap of their lives! Next, we’ll see how reiki can help you sleep better and ease the effects of insomnia.

Reiki can be used to target specific areas or issues, like poor sleep and insomnia. Reiki masters usually place their hands over key areas like the eyes, heart and back of the head – regions that are heavily involved in good sleep. 

The simple, yet profound technique can create peace within your mind, body and spirit. I’ve experienced this first-hand! I received my training in energy medicine while in medical school and continue to develop my own style of energy healing.

Enhance Reiki’s Effectiveness 

You probably already know how important a healthy lifestyle is for your body, but it also helps make energy healing’s impact last longer.  

After energy medicine sessions, make sure to: 

  • Hydrate and get plenty of exercise  
  • Limit caffeine intake late in the day 
  • Drink alcohol in moderation 
  • Avoid overeating before bedtime  
  • End screen time (phones, tablets, TVs, etc.) an hour before sleeping
